Sirius initiates cooperation with Kanonyri Kladno from the Czech Republic

An initial discussion about a cooperation between Sirius Innebandy and Kanonyri Kladno from the Czech Republic was initiated about a year ago. Exactly how a formal cooperation will look like has not been finalized, but with training and games cancelled in the Czech Republic, three players from the Czech team has arrived in Uppsala to train with Sirius.

The three players are Matyas Bachmaier (born 2003), Jakub Bohuslávek (born 2004) and Marek Pixa (born1999). They will get the opportunity to train and play with Sirius herrjunior and the SSL team during a longer period based on their individual skills. It will be important, both for the players as well as for both clubs, that they have the opportunity to stay for an extended period of time.

Kanonyri Kladno is based in the city of Kladno, just outside strax utanför Prague and was founded in 1995 and has some 400 members making it one of the largest in the region. The junior team plays in the highest league and the mens team play in the second highest league.

”It’s exciting that we now have the opportunity to take a first step in our cooperation. Our discussions were initiated last fall and covers a lot of different parts where having players from Kladno coming to us is one part. It will be interesting to see how the players can adapt to a new environment. Over the long term I see a lot of interesting opportunities that will benefit both clubs,” says Peter Tornberg, chairman of Sirius Innebandy.
